The Sustainable Electricity Association of New Zealand (SEANZ) is the industry association that represents the interests of all stakeholders of the smaller scale renewable /distributed generation (SSR/DG) industry. Stakeholders include manufacturers, importers, installer/designers generator-retailers, lines companies, consultants, developers and researchers and electricity consumers.
SEANZ message is:
- New Zealand’s energy supply can be supported by photovoltaic (PV) solar, small scale hydro and small wind technologies
- Electricity, generated close to the location of use, can play a major role in the New Zealand energy supply scenario by providing a significant proportion of renewable electricity in the next five years
- Small scale renewable energy technology and installations coupled with energy efficiency can be a practical and realistic option for everyday people and business
Safe, reliable systems that perform to expectations will help garner public acceptance of and confidence in SSR/DG. SEANZ is tasked with providing a comprehensive and robust standards and accreditation program for SSR/DG systems in New Zealand.
