Alister is a research manager for distributed energy and hydrogen technologies at Industrial Research Limited, a New Zealand Crown Research Institute. He is involved in research and development into transformational energy technologies with particular focus on the future roles of distributed generation and hydrogen energy. Alister has had a long-standing interest in renewable energy technologies, and was involved in installation and testing of the first grid connected PV system in New Zealand.
Alistair is currently working with fuel cells, electrolysers and other hydrogen energy technologies and on a wave energy conversion system. He has been active over the past 20 years in a wide range of energy R&D projects at both a technical and management level, including photovoltaic and wind technologies, power electronics, energy management, demand analysis and power quality.
He was appointed to the SEANZ Board in October 2006 and provides research analysis and material for SEANZ as well as enacting and reviewing technical related submissions for SEANZ at a regulatory and policy level. |
