Iain is director and principal of Astara Technologies Limited, a company he started in 1999 providing management and technical consulting and contracting services. He has held a variety of technical and management positions within the consumer electronics, communications and IT sectors in NZ and overseas. From an electronics background, Iain has worked on technical research, development and design of specialist test and measurement and production equipment.
He has designed and implemented production processes, service systems and warranty failure analysis and modelling systems. He has also been involved in design and prototyping of electronic equipment for marine scientific research.
Iain has performed general, technical and project management functions, undertaken business feasibility and financial analysis.
Iain maintains an active interest in alternative power generation systems, and is currently involved in projects in the renewable energy field and electric vehicle development. He has been a SEANZ Board member since November 2007 and is an active member leading the financial management and contracts. |
