Alphatron started in the attic of a Rotterdam home in 1979. From these humble beginnings, it has grown into a technology company with offices in over 10 countries. Alphatron manufactures and distributes equipment for medical, marine, security, broadcast and energy applications. Although a decent sized company these days, the entrepreneurial spirit and culture of innovation has never left us.

In 1998, Alphatron opened an office in Auckland. The Auckland office is primarily engaged in the supply of power generation and conversion equipment for marine and renewable energy applications. It provides solutions for distributed generation and provides local support for some of the industry’s best known brands such as Victron Energy, SMA Technology, Morningstar, Unisolar, Solara and Isofoton.

What sets Alphatron apart from other companies in the renewable energy market is the high level of technical expertise of its employees. 60% of Alphatron's employees have engineering degrees. This has made Alphatron a valued supplier to most of the major system integrators that are active in the New Zealand renewable energy market.
