Solar is one of Sharp’s global strategic priorities and through extensive research and investment maintain a position as a world leader.

Sharp production of solar systems has now reached a quantity equivalent to an output of 710MW. At the end of 2007, Sharp became the first company in the world to reach 2GW of cumulative solar cell production volume since 1959. This translates into CO2 savings helping to reduce the impact of global warming.

In NZ, Sharp first introduced solar modules in 2005 and has since quickly established its position as a dominant player with Sharp panels installed on landmark sites such as Bean Rock light house, the Auckland International Airport and Department of Conservation locations.
