Why:
Electricity is fundamental to Aotearoa New Zealand’s economy, communities, and future prosperity. As demand grows through electrification, climate commitments, and population change, a strong, well performing sector, increasingly shapes economic competitiveness, cost of living, and resilience.
Affordable, reliable power supports productivity, innovation, and social wellbeing. To realise opportunity, the sector must deliver power that is low‑cost, low‑emissions, resilient, yet flexible. And our technologies across the solar PV landscape are at that forefront.
The whole sector has been at the nexus for a while. The current position with high electricity costs driving the higher cost of living resulting from incumbency and minimal political will to make significant change, is not sustainable. Enabling Prosperity in Aotearoa NZ Powering a Shared Future Electric Elections takes place in election year and an important focus will be what actions by political parties can be taken to resolve this challenge.
