Base Power began in 2008, when New Zealand’s second largest electricity distribution company Powerco started developing Remote Area Power Systems (RAPS) as there was no viable ‘grid-alternative’ to connect remote customers on its network.

Since then, Base Power has gone on to become a standalone business specialising in small, off-grid and renewable energy integrated systems, designed to ensure the best energy outcomes for our customers whether that be an emphasis on reliability, renewable and low-impact electricity, or achieving energy independence in rural and remote locations across New Zealand and New South Wales.
