Membership process FAQ's
How long does the membership approval process take?
We try to process applications as quickly as we can. Due to the uptake in solar industry, we are very busy at the moment, so expect a 3-4 week minimum processing time.
Is the $200 application fee refundable if my application is rejected?
No. The $200 + GST application processing fee covers the background vetting and administrative costs and is strictly non-refundable.
How does SEANZ membership help my customers get solar loans?
Major banks in New Zealand require clean energy system installations to be carried out by accredited, compliant installers before approving zero- or low-interest green loans. SEANZ membership proves adherence to AS/NZS 5033 standards and the SEANZ Code of Conduct, satisfying bank verification requirements.
What ongoing obligations come with membership?
All members must adhere strictly to the SEANZ Code of Conduct and Rules of the Association.
What if I don't know 2 SEANZ members to act as referees?
This can be tricky, be sure to check our Member Directory for all current members. Attending our annual Conference is a great way to network and make industry friends. If you are new to the solar industry we recommend waiting 6 months to a year, and applying when you have industry connections and some great installation jobs under your belt!
