Standards

Standards are used in all industries to define the minimum requirements to meet the desired level of quality, performance and safety.

The New Zealand Wiring Rules (AS/NZS 3000) reference a robust set of standards for the installation of renewable energy systems. One way to ensure that an electrical installation is compliant with New Zealand electrical regulations is to install to comply with the requirements of AS/NZS 3000, this includes all referenced standards.

SEANZ is a member of the EL-042 standards committee, who develops standards for Small Scale Renewables and is actively working to evolve standards. The indsutry can have input into the development of standards through public comment on the standards or direct through the SEANZ representative.
