Christchurch Electrical Solar large-scale project at Sunson Asian Food Market in Wigram
Christchurch Electrical Solar scoped, assisted with the design, installed and managed the large-scale solar project at Sunson Asian Food Market in Wigram.
The supermarket had 165kW worth of power installed via 368 panels with 150kW inverter power and a custom fabricated cage.
To ensure continuation of business, the team worked outside of operating hours for power shutdown and ensured critical equipment such as chillers were without power for no more than 2 hours. The original switchboard installer was located in order to obtain a matching switchboard and cabinet to extend the system capacity and every terminal was torqued to the correct rating.
Traffic management, accounting for wind zones, roof height and weight management of craned panels, were among the considerations for project management of the site.
