A new solar energy initiative at five Manawatū marae is empowering the community by providing sustainable power at reduced costs, environmental guardianship and self-sufficiency. The solar panels installed across all five locations feed the community-owned battery built from reused Nissan Leaf car batteries - a world-leading technology.
SEANZ members Our Energy built the platform using existing infrastructure and McNae Group were involved in the installation. The initiative showcases the community's commitment to renewable energy and offers a model for others to follow.
