Electricity Authority Releases Consultation Documents
The Electricity Authority (EA) has released two key consultation papers that are vital for shaping future network connection processes and pricing. SEANZ members are encouraged to review these documents, participate in the discussions, and contribute feedback to strengthen industry outcomes.
UPDATE to Deadline:
The new deadline to make a submission is 5pm, Friday 20 December. EA will endeavour to publish the submissions on Monday 23 December to allow for cross-submissions. Cross-submissions are now due 5pm, Friday 24 January 2025.
The Electricity Authority (EA) has recently published two important consultation papers that we strongly encourage our SEANZ members to review:
These documents outline key proposals for both pricing and non-pricing reforms related to network connections-areas in which the NCTG (Network Connections Technical Group) has played an integral role. This work aligns with SEANZ’s ongoing efforts with the EA to improve the connection process for our members and bring consistency within the industry.
These consultation papers reflect significant efforts to shape the future of distribution connection and pricing therefore your feedback and engagement are crucial in refining these proposals to ensure the best outcomes for our industry.
How you can be involved:
- We highly encourage all SEANZ members to read through these documents and consider their implications.
- Attend the upcoming webinar hosted by the EA on 11th November, which will provide further insight into these proposals and guide you on how to engage effectively.
- Follow the instructions provided in the consultation links to give your feedback by 20th December. For detailed submission instructions, visit the EA’s submission guidance page: EA submission instructions.
-
EA will publish the submissions on Monday 23 December to allow for cross-submissions. Cross-submissions are now due 5pm, Friday 24 January 2025.
SEANZ support and next steps:
SEANZ will be preparing and releasing our own submission on behalf of our members and will share this with you. However, we strongly encourage each member to submit their individual feedback, as this adds significant weight to the process. If you have specific questions after attending the webinar, please reach out to Trent Tscheuschler, USS Technical Programme Manager, at [email protected].
Thanks so much for your ongoing support and for being a part of this important work.
SEANZ Team.
