The Client’s Request
The client owns a large lifestyle property with significant and consistent energy demand, even after implementing efficiency upgrades. His objective was complete energy independence through a system capable of operating fully off grid, without compromising reliability, performance, or lifestyle comfort.
The Challenge
Load modelling confirmed high daytime and evening consumption requiring substantial generation and storage capacity. The home features multiple roof faces with varying orientations, increasing design complexity. The system needed to provide multi day autonomy, maintain voltage and frequency stability under heavy loads, and comply with AS NZS 3000, AS NZS 5033, and AS NZS 4777 standards. Long term resilience during extended low solar periods was essential.
The Solution
Solarsun Solutions engineered a 28 kW solar PV system using premium Winaico 450 W modules, strategically distributed across multiple roof faces to optimise yield throughout the day.
A 96 kWh Battery Energy Storage System was installed using the Sigenergy SigenStor platform, delivering high capacity storage with integrated energy management and protection systems.
A 30 kVA diesel generator was integrated for seasonal resilience and automated backup support. Comprehensive commissioning, protection verification, and compliance documentation were completed in line with SEANZ best practice.
Success Story
Operational since September 2025, the system has delivered full energy independence. The multi orientation array provides strong daily production, battery performance remains stable under high load conditions, and generator integration ensures uninterrupted supply. The client has achieved true off grid capability with long term reliability and future energy security.
