The aim of this course is to provide students with the skills and knowledge to be able to solve basic problems in PV systems, carry out basic repairs to RE apparatuses, solve problems in stand-alone RE systems, design stand-alone RE systems and install stand-alone PV systems.
At the end of this learning package, learners will be able to:
Carry out and document preparation work and problem-solving on photovoltaic energy apparatus and systems.
Carry out preparation and repairs to RE apparatus including work activities.
Carry out and document preparation and problem solving on stand-alone RE systems.
Determine and develop stand-alone RE system design.
Obtain design approval for stand-alone RE system.
Prepare to install and install ELV stand-alone PV power apparatus and systems.
Outcome of the course
NZQA Level 4 Micro-credential 4557 (20 credits)
This course is endorsed by SEANZ (Sustainable Energy Association of New Zealand).
The Stand-Alone Power Systems micro-credentials will be accepted as the New Zealand Qualified Pathway for gaining a Mains Parallel Generation Systems licence endorsement by EWRB.
Prerequisite requirements
Registered Electrician, Registered Electrical Engineer or Registered Electrical Inspector.
The Grid-connected Photovoltaic Systems (GCPV) Micro-credential is a pre-requisite to this course.
The Grid-connected Photovoltaic Systems (GCPV) and Grid-Connected Battery Storage Systems (GCBS) Micro-credentials are a pre-requisite to this course.
