The SEANZ Tech team is made up of SEANZ members who share their wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to improve outcomes for SEANZ and the industry. The team provides assistance and support with the many and hugely varied technical queries and occasional dispute our members and consumers (who have engaged a SEANZ member) seek.

Greg Hoskins

Bio
Principal of Hoskins Energy Systems, Greg is a practitioner of designing and installing solar PV and storage systems - grid connected and off-grid. With 35 years in the feild, Greg is the industrys technical go to man. A master electrician he has extensive history in electrical work and renewable energy system implementations in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Appointed to the SEANZ board in 2010, Greg as a systems integrator brings pragmatic and real world expertise that is vital to define and maintain the right standards for the technologies and their implementation in New Zealand, given local differences in the industry. Greg serves on other industry boards and is a member of the AUS NZ EL-042 Standards Committee - Renewable Energy Systems of Standards.
Regan Heal

Bio
Regan is General Manager of Central Otago based Infinite Energy. Prior to establishing Infinite Energy in 2013, Regan worked as a Business Development Manager for EECA (Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority) helping deliver the Warm Up New Zealand campaign.
Regan is passionate about the environment & renewables, and maintains a keen interest in construction and building science. This interest has seen Regan recently gain the Homestar Practitioner qualification, and he believes we have a great opportunity to be the generation that drives the shift towards better, healthier, more efficient housing for all New Zealand families.
Colm Franklin

Bio
Colm Franklin is an Electronics & Electrical Engineer registered with the EWRB. Originally from Ireland, Colm has lived in NZ since 2009. He has almost 40 years of Industry experience working across a wide range of areas such as Design, Production & Testing, Customer Support, and Marketing for some of the world’s largest tech companies. In 2008, he undertook further studies in the UK for the emerging Solar, Hydro & Wind technologies, gaining additional City & Guilds qualifications. Colm works at Independent Power in Auckland where he is involved in the sale and design of Renewable Energy Systems involving Solar, Hydro & Wind, ranging from a small single panel system for an Off Grid Motorhome to multi Mega Watt Solar Farms. Colm is down to earth and very practical – he can be found at weekends welding up a trailer for a tiny home, or mixing concrete for a construction or landscape project, when he is not spending time with his 5 children or a growing number of grandchildren.
Mike Vicar
Martin Diprose
Electrical Engineer
Bio
With a degree in Electrical Engineering, Martin has been involved in the solar industry for many years. He is registered as an Electrical Engineer and an Electrical Inspector. Martin has been a solar design engineer at McNae Group in Palmerston North since 2012. He takes a keen interest in the regulations and standards that govern the electrical and photovoltaic industry. Before joining McNae Group, Martin spent 10 years in Africa living in a remote village that did not have grid electricity. Martin and his family lived off grid and were involved in language development work. Now Martin assists others with engineering design and advice to ensure compliance with solar and electrical standards
Mark Eagles
Consultant Engineer
Bio
Mark Eagles is employed by Solarcity NZ Ltd as a Consultant Engineer. He worked as Head of Engineering for three years prior to his current position.
Mark founded and operated a small electrical contracting business from 2007 - 2014, specialising in solar on grid and off grid installations around NZ. During that time, the company completed multiple small to medium sized solar projects including the +60kW Auckland War Memorial Museum, numerous rural and urban systems. He also completed several installation projects in the Pacific Islands, including The Solomons, Tonga, Samoa and Rarotonga.
Mark achieved a Bachelor of Engineering in Combined Engineering Studies from Coventry in the UK in the late 80’s before emigrating to NZ. Mark is one of the SEANZ representatives to the AUS/NZ EL-042 joint standards committee for renewable energy. He is a NZ registered Electrician and has successfully completed all of the NZ Electrical Inspectors Examinations.
Mark currently lives in Wanaka, is married and has two children.

Aaron Gillon

Bio
Aaron is the Divisional Manager of YHI Energy. Aaron has been designing, building, selling and repairing power systems across a number of industry verticals for 22 years and has a strong aptitude in power electronics and battery technology. In his current role at YHI energy he is at the forefront of renewable energy and electrification solutions, exploring innovative strategies to optimise energy generation, storage and distribution. With a focus on the next generation of energy storage solutions Aaron is heavily involved in the development of emerging products internationally often many years before a product is released to market.
With his unwavering commitment to advancing renewable energy and electrification, Aaron continues to contribute significantly towards the effort to combat climate change.
