SEANZ thanks Ms Anna Kominik, the Electricity Authority Chair, who has announced her resignation

The Sustainable Energy Association (SEANZ) formally thanks Ms Anna Kominik, the Electricity Authority Chair, who has announced her resignation, for her valued support, the reforms she has overseen, and the outcomes she and her team at the Authority have achieved during her tenure.

Ms Kominik implemented many new initiatives with the Authority across the electricity sector, positively impacting consumers through the uptake of solar and battery energy storage.

SEANZ Chair Brendan Winitana says, “I personally want to acknowledge the work Ms Kominik has led. Her reforms are already delivering positive outcomes for consumers managing their own energy and building resilience using solar and batteries. However, for consumers, the most significant impact of her work will come to fruition next year through export tariffs at peak demand, increased export limits across the country, the development of an innovation pathway for sector innovators, time-of-use tariffs, network connections, and distribution connection pricing reform.

“I thank her for her unwavering support, for the betterment of communities and their lower cost energy needs”, said Mr Winitana.

Ms Kominik led many initiatives that have delivered and will continue to provide significant value for energy consumers. These initiatives include addressing retailer obligations with energy-dependent consumers, addressing future security and resilience requirements for Aotearoa, establishing the Energy Competition Task Force, and improving visibility of generation investment.
