David and Wendy embraced sustainable living nearly two years ago by installing 22 solar panels and a Tesla Powerwall with Wanaka Solar. Initially hoping to reduce their electricity bills, they’ve now found they don’t have one at all.
But the benefits of having a solar system are more than just cost savings for David and Wendy. The ability to generate and store power has proven to be a game-changer, especially during power outages.
“We recently had a major power outage and the house was fully powered right through the evening until the power was reconnected. So it’s not just the savings, it’s the fact that you can store power for when you really need it.” David says.
