SEANZ and Ministry of Social Development

MSD Industry Partnerships and SEANZ have entered into discussions to develop a workforce ready programme to help develop industry capacity. Currently negotiating a Memorandum of Understanding, the intent is to work together to identify career pathways and skills gaps within the solar PV and storage industry in New Zealand that will provide a valuable resource for industry stakeholders and practitioners, supporting the development of a skilled workforce that can drive innovation, growth, and sustainability in the solar power and wider sustainable energy industry. It is anticipated that the output of initial discussions may act as a framework for further program activities.

SEANZ, Workforce Ready, Mana Pacific and Tonga Power

Following on from the above initiative, SEANZ is negotiations with other stakeholders developing options to further increase building industry capacity and capability – in the pacific islands and in Aotearoa New Zealand. With the expected growth of utility scale solar building seasonal employment capacity for this part of the industry is vital.

Given the peaks and troughs of the utility scale workforce requirement building initiatives and developing more capacity and capability are key. This initiative works to address this component. Watch this space…
